In this era of social media trends and with the average person spending at twenty hours a week online. Digital marketing has become vital for businesses, but developing and implementing a digital campaign is easier said than done. With the constant change of technology, it can be easy to get bogged down by the always evolving technology. However, through it’s not easy we all have the necessary tools available to not only drive traffic to your website, but to improve engagement with your potential customers.

Here are 5 tools everyone in the Digital Marketing industry should be using.

1. BuzzSumo
This tool is a great way to learn more about your particular market. When you start a business or blog we usually know a little bit about the industry we’re going into. However this tool will give us a deeper insight into our market place, giving us additional data that be used to our advantage. This information can come in handy at many times, such as when you are creating content for your blog.

2. Hootsuite
This is a free service that provides a social media management system for brand management. The system takes the form of a Dashboard and supports many social media sites such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google +, MySpace, WordPress, TrendSpottr etc. This is a great way to set your content you want to be published at times you are unavailable to do so or at optimal times to post. This will allow you to have better control over your social media campaign which is essential to digital marketing.

3. Social Media Platforms
The importance of social media for any company, brand or business is critical to having a successful marketing plan. When we first start our platforms the first three sites we need to sign up first for our Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. Twitter is one of those social platforms you just can’t stay off of and with over 300 million active users, you will find a sizeable part of your target market on Twitter! It also helps amplify your voice on the Internet and helps market your business or product. Facebook is a tool that you should never overlook. With over a billion users worldwide that your business can target, Facebook can be a great way to reach them. If you are looking to promote anything from a blog post to a product Facebook is the place you can utilize different marketing strategies such as Facebook pages and targeted marketing tools that Facebook provides. Instagram allows us to post content such as videos and pictures to use a marketing tool.

4. Followerwonk
Followerwonk was created to help you improve our social media strategy, such as by digging into your Twitter analytics data. The three main things Followerwonk does it:
• Find – use the tool to search Twitter bios and compare accounts.
• Analyze – breakdown your follower list by bio, location, who they follow and many other criteria.
• Optimize – match your strategy to follower gains and losses, to understand what type of content performs best.
This is a great tool to use for building your brand on Twitter the only downside is that you cannot utilize its tools for other social media platforms.

5. Canva
We all know the better a site, blog post or social media post looks increases the engagement and click rate. But if we’re not a pro at photoshop or graphic design it can be quite difficult so that’s where Canva comes in handy. This app allows you to quickly and easily make incredible graphics that can used for social media content or a blog post.

    Thanks for sharing. I wouldn’t really put FollowerWonk up there with the others, but I guess it’s a handy tool.

    I’d recommend RivalIQ for your brand and competitor analytics. I use it every day for my job in digital and social marketing.

    Hootsuite’s analytics are pretty poor and they’re aiming themselves at small businesses who don’t know any better. Personally, for a business use, I would go for Spredfast every time. They’re expensive, but you get an incredible amount of services for the cost.
