Throughout life many of us have experienced heartbreak, pain and crossroads during this journey called life. Whether this pain was from a family member, stranger or self-inflicted we have to move past this pain to ensure it won’t hold us back from our destiny.
Letting Go of The Past
It can be difficult to shake these thoughts and not hold on to the pain. The issue then becomes much bigger than the “hurt” but what we do with it is more vital than the hurt itself. Holding on to the pain will only cause more pain. It’s important to ask ourselves is holding a grudge really going to help us have a happier and successful life?
Adopt a New Mindset
Our minds are one of our most powerful weapons that sometimes we don’t utilize properly. You can do anything in the world by thinking the right way. Most people want to live a life full of joy and happiness that can easily be accomplished by using our minds. If you just take the time to let go of all of the past problems, disagreements, heartache and pain and realize all those were just a stepping stone for you to move into your purpose. Here are 4 quotes to help us move forward from pain & heartbreak.
1. “When one door closes, another opens; but we often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the one which has opened for us.”
2. “No matter what you go through always remember trouble don’t last always”
3. “Letting go doesn’t mean that you don’t care about someone anymore. It’s just realizing that the only person you really have control over is yourself.”
4. “You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself ‘I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.’ You must

No matter how terrible it seems our past experiences were, we always have a choice to move past it, accept it, and decide to live better, be stronger, wiser, and pursue our excellence. When we demonstrate forgiveness, others can extend the same to us, knowing that the past does not and should not define us.
Not everyone can exercise those virtues, but that is not our problem at all. Instead, we must find our strengths, grab and own our power, give thanks for a new day, and use each day as another chance to get this thing called life ‘right’ for us. The gifts we possess must be shared with the world, and we must give ourselves permission to share them, having faith that we each can make a positive difference in the world. Troubles don’t last always, unless we stifle our will to change, grow, live and continue to learn.
Love this!

Scars will eventually emerge after troubled experiences, but they are there simply to remind us where we’ve been. They don’t tell us where we are going, and should not define us nor limit our journey towards a life adorned with blessings. So, yes, trouble doesn’t have to last always! After we have survived, we must then choose to live! Love this one, thanks.

Nice read! Pain from the past is definitely a tricky one to get over but we have to remind ourselves that we have so much to look forward to rather than looking back

Yes, I remember some horrendous times and yes, I remember how I got through them. I clung then, as I do now, to the promise God made when He said, “I’ll never leave you nor forsake you.” Sometimes just the knowing that I’m not alone is all that gets me through tough times. A thought provoking article this time, Jay. Thanks for writing it.

Our thoughts are definitely our most powerful tool. Where we direct our thoughts we will attract. If we focus on the pain we will attract more pain. We should point our focus in the direction of how we would like to feel. Great advice, love the quotes too.

So right…but easier said than done in many cases. I’m trying to let go, but I haven’t been able to yet. I blame my stubbornness.

I love this mindset that people are sharing about moving forward. A great read for people would be a book entitled “Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself”. It ties in beautifully with this post and has helped me not only change my life immensely but has been my saving grace which has enabled me to embrace all the changes I have made.
