Do you remember what you wanted to be when you grew up? Maybe a singer? A professional athlete? A ballerina? Whether or not you still have those childhood dreams is irrelevant. Today is a new day and you probably have different interest, goals, aspirations and dreams for your life. Now the only question is are you working towards it or have you given up all hope on your dreams with the burdens of daily life pulling you down.
With all the negative messages we receive in today’s society either from the media, articles, social media outlets and maybe even people we have a personal relationship with. Adopting the “never give up” attitude can be better said than done. Those who succeed in achieving their dreams always have one common characteristic. They never give up. This isn’t an attitude that they develop toward the end; it’s a mindset that they establish from the beginning and nurture throughout the process. I want to encourage and inspire anyone reading this article to take a step back and look at your life. And ask yourself are you really satisfied with your life. Are you following your inner passion that you know deep down in your heart you are destined to do. Well today I want to share seven ways to never give up on your goals and dreams.
- Adopt a No Excuses Mantra:
Your mind can come up with endless excuses as to why you should give up on a goal. This is especially true of goals that involve giving up a substance that you have become addicted to physically. This will also help you to put an end to all the internal debates, questions, and arguments by simply saying to yourself, “No excuses!”
- Don’t Let Setbacks & Difficulties Derail You:
Obstacles are the tests that will make you feel worthy and proud once you reach your goal. The true value and reward in accomplishing a goal is in the challenges you overcome during the journey. The point here is that setbacks and difficulties are your opportunities to become a person who is truly worthy of the success that you seek. Character building is a key component to the “never give up” mindset.
- Stay Focused on What You Want:
Dismiss thoughts of failure and uncertainty and stay focused on the vision of what you want to accomplish. Spend some time imagining in detail what it will be like to achieve your desired outcome. This follows a quote a wise person told me before “our thoughts become things”. Simply said if you believe you can achieve it. This might sound cliché but it really works if it is put into action.
- Proving The Doubters Wrong:
Don’t give the naysayers the satisfaction of seeing you give up on your dreams! There’s nothing wrong with wanting to prove them wrong. It’s quite common to have dream-killers infiltrate your life. It might be colleagues or business acquaintances or even (sadly) family and friends. They are negative influences who sow seeds of doubt.
- Trust that You Will Find a Way:
Everyone wants to see the entire route and pitfalls before they begin their journey. Trouble is that the ideal route to your goal doesn’t exist. This is because no one has ever traveled the unique path that you require.
- Ineptitude Comes Before Skillfulness:
Skills are developed. We are not born with them. Think back to the first time you drove a car or used a computer and compare it to the skills you have today. Don’t allow yourself to give up simply because you haven’t gotten through the stage yet Ineptitude.
- There is No Perfect Time:
If you are thinking about giving up on a goal until the conditions in your life are just right, chances are you’ll be waiting a long time. There is no perfect time to do something. It’s one of the secrets of success to know this. Looking for the perfect time is just an excuse to procrastinate.
Motivation follows action, not the other way around. Once you get started, your motivation will begin to build. Then it will become easy to adopt the never give up attitude. This is especially true during the early stages a particular goal or dream. What are your biggest obstacles that you encounter while pursing your dreams or goals? I don’t believe if anyone comes and says that he doesn’t have any dreams. Everybody possesses that. We just need to find it. No appropriate time. We can find it anytime and anywhere, just need to pour the nectar of focus and discipline in our mind. Thanks for writing. Keep working. Stay fit. Peace.

I’ve had some disappointments with people I admired and lost a bit of confidence but then realised this is about me following my dreams. I like this post as it reminded me I have a goal and if others can’t support that…I can’t let it stop me.
