You’ve most likely heard of clean eating, but did you know clean eating can be fun! Eating clean is a great way to refresh our eating habits by discovering the best and healthiest options in each food group. By adding cleaner choices to our diet and reducing the amount of not so healthy choices we can easily embrace whole foods like vegetables, fruits and whole grains. No matter if you’ve been eating clean for years or just started today anyone can do it. Here are 4 fun ways to eat clean!
- Eat Food You Actually Like
There is a huge misconception that in order to eat “clean” you have to dislike the food you eat. Don’t force yourself to eat food that you despise. Find food that contains ingredients that you actually like. This will increase your chances of sticking with a clean eating lifestyle.
- Research Healthier Recipes
Despite what you may have heard you don’t have to give up your favorite dishes in order to eat clean. Whether it’s chicken pot pie, fettuccine alfredo or mozzarella sticks there’s a clean recipe out there. There are plenty of fun ways to transform our favorite dishes into more healthier choices.
- Reduce Alcohol Intake
A key to having a cleaner diet includes cleaning up what you drink. Now don’t worry you can still drink alcohol, but just stay within one drink per day maximum. Alcohol in a moderation may be good for your heart, but too much alcohol dehydrates and adds excess calories to our diet. Be aware of mixed drinks with lots of added sugars, more than likely if your drink is a neon color or came out of a frozen machine it’s not all that clean.
- Make it Fun
With anything in life it’s what you make of it. Making a lifestyle change is difficult, but doing it with people you love makes it easier. Try having a dinner party where you invite all your closes friends and make clean versions of everyone’s favorite dish. This is a great way to make eating clean fun and enjoyable!

I love this! Hadn’t heard of ‘eating clean’ before but it’s a wonderful concept, especially the bit about /not/ hating your food. I consider myself to be a foodie, and I do spend a lot of time in the kitchen at times, but often the tastiest meal is quick, simple and requires minimal effort…plus it’s also a lot cheaper than buying takeaway or convenience food. One trick is to make your own salad dressing. 1/2 lemon juice [or a nice vinegar] + 1/2 nice oil + a pinch of salt, stir and pour. If you’re adventurous, add some fresh, crushed garlic as well. Or mash up 1/2 an avocado and add to the vinaigrette. Can make the simplest salad something you /want/ to eat. 😀

I do always try to make an effort to eat clean, however I find that it’s near impossible when you’re super busy or you’re always on the go as it takes a lot of planning and effort to actually find healthy things to eat. But after reading this I’m reminded how much better I feel after I eat healthily instead of eating junk all the time. I will make more of an effort to do so. Thank you for this post!!

Love #1. Some of my go-tos are avocado, oats, egg, natural peanut butter, and bananas. Korean red pepper paste also makes even the most boring grains and veggies super yummy when added to a dish.
