Easy Meals For College Students

When you’re a college student you’re busy most of the time or maybe just lazy but finding time to cook in college may be challenging. Most students don’t have a lot of money to spend on food, but we all know you still have to eat. With the right recipes and some kitchen savvy, you can eat great even on a budget. So I will share five easy meals even a college student can afford.

  1. Scrambled Eggs with Cheddar Cheese: While the costs of many ingredients are skyrocketing, eggs are still relatively cheap.
  2. Grilled Cheese Sandwich: The classic college staple, grilled cheese sandwiches pack a lot of flavor for very little cost.
  3. Meatloaf: All you need is ground beef combined with ketchup, onions, and more makes a great meal. It also can be used for leftovers
  4. Caesar salad: Combine romaine lettuce, cheese, croutons, and dressing for a classic salad.
  5. Quesadillas – Quesadillas are the perfect quick meal. This spicy vegetarian mix of black beans, corn, onion, and cheese is a great choice for a busy college student.

The recipes remind me of my own college days when menus were basic and easy preparation was key. This all sounds delicious and conjures a bit of nostalgia. Thanks for the memories! I think I’ll have a grilled cheese sandwich now!

I swear by the “College Cooking” series of cookbooks! I didn’t start cooking in earnest until I was in my mid-twenties, but this series includes recipes that are delicious, require only a few ingredients, and have instructions that are easy to follow for inexperienced cooks! (They also have an entire section on budget meals!)

  12. I used to make a bagel with tomato and cheese melted in the toaster oven. Or the same thing in a pita and toasted.
