How To Find Happiness During ‘The Process’

For most people who’re going after a specific goal we often go to sleep with a ton of ideas, concepts and maybe a to do list of things we need to do the following day. This is common for anyone working towards a goal and we’ve all found ourselves doing this once or twice. However, this can become problematic when we start to not enjoy the process.

The process is a term used to describe “the period of time between starting our goal and actually reaching it.” Many times, the process can be overwhelming and mentally draining causing us to over analyze and become frustrated. This happens because the process can be long and grueling causing us to devlop self-doubt wondering can or will we ever reach our goals.

Often times when this happens we can either do a couple of things one is to give up or two keep fighting through the process to make it to our end goal.

Believe Before You See

To have faith is to have deep sense of trust in what cannot be seen. Proof or confirmation is not needed to have faith in the process. Rather you’re religious or not having faith is essential to making our goals reality.  To trust the process, completely is not need to know what is unfolding or why, but to simply have the belief that what you’re doing is ultimately going to work.

However, without putting in the time and effort it is downright impossible to accomplish our goals. Consequently, we have to believe in whatever we’re doing no matter what circumstances unfolded in our lives.

Final Thoughts

Going through “the process” to reach success can be overwhelming, but we always have to remind ourselves to enjoy the moment. Often times we get caught up in where we want to be in our career, life or success wise. That we tend to forget to be thankful for where we are at that present moment.  This doesn’t mean to not strive for better, but don’t get down on yourself for not reaching your goal at that present time.

Ask yourself this, what brings you joy? Do you enjoy your day to day grind working towards your goals? Comment below & if you liked article please share!

  1. Thank you for a great post. I always seem to be in the middle of the process, and far from reaching my goals, and often unhappy. Thank you for reminding me to stop once in awhile to smell the roses, and enjoy the moment.

“There is no path to happiness, happiness is the path.” I’ve learned that I have to enjoy the journey otherwise the destination might not live up to the hype. This is a message I often share as well. Thanks for providing people with this simple yet profound reminder ❤

Excellent post, as always. My hope and dream for 2018 is to find a different job that combines my healthcare experience with my new paralegal degree (Graduation currently anticipated for December!). I enjoy my current job and have been with them for almost five years, but I’m itching for a change!

Happiness is hard to find when you come from rough areas and experience the bad but it is always obtainable in every situation. Thank you for the great words. I needed this my brother. 👍🏾

I’m going through this right now with a novel I’m working on publishing. Based on a suggestion from a Beta Reader, I’m having to change around part of my story. While I appreciate honest feedback, it did through me off and I’m working on getting through this “eh” period.

I really needed to see this because I currently have a goal and I get down on myself for not being where I think I should be yet. I feel like if I implement some of the things you say, i will be able to find happiness a little easier.

I can definitely relate to being frustrated with the process. Seeing the end can sometimes be difficult but I have found focusing on the daily wins has helped. I look for something I can be grateful for in each day and it helps me enjoy the process and appreciate the moment.

I appreciate your positive perspectives! I use to really hate the word “process”, but as I’ve gotten older, I absolutely appreciate it. Its necessary and I’m a better person because of all the processes I’ve had to go through and I’m still going through. Perspective is everything!

  17. YES! I love this! It’s important to remember that even the low moments in life are part of our life’s process. Every moment won’t be on top of the mountain. You definitely have to go through some valleys to get from peak to peak. This is where faith comes in. Thank you for sharing!

Oh the process is hard for an impatient soul like me. Great post and in between the time I am trying to accomplish my goal such as trying to move from my current location – is to keep myself motivated and do good work in my blogging and freelance life so I can manifest my desires and be prepared when it is time to move!

Great post! I’ve come from being homeless in NYC to achieve my goals. I made my national TV debut this summer. I’m getting there but the grind and hustle has been lesson filled and arduous. Thanks for this post! It’s a great reminder!

Great post! My two biggest goals right now is to graduate from college next spring with a 4.0 and to make a decent income off of my blog. I am putting in the work in school because I have to and want to and I just started my blog awhile ago and I love blogging. I’m reaching out to people and grabbing inspiration and motivation from everyone.
