Do you have dreams and ambitions but never seem to take action? Do you have work to do and deadlines but just can’t seem to get motivated until the very last minute? If you answered yes to any of those questions then you probably have procrastinated. Now we all do procrastinated to a certain extent, no one is perfect, especially if the task is unpleasant or boring. However procrastination can be a common problem for a lot of people it can and will hold you back in life in a serious way. It will stop you from achieving success and may hinder you from pursing your dreams and goals. Even on a more simple level it will hold you back if you procrastinate on even the simplest task. You will start late, put out less quality work and not get the recognition and success you deserve for your effort and time. Simply put you don’t need to be super intelligent, have a large sum money, or to know the right people to get started with your dream, but the one thing that will hold you back more than anything is the tendency to procrastinate.
So the next time you think about procrastinating just imagine the very thing you’re postponing will never happen. You’ll NEVER get to experience it , because you’ll never have the perfect inspiration, perfect conditions, perfect skill it will NEVER be the “right time”. Then ask yourself how does that make you feel relieved or petrified? Just remember you can accomplish anything you want to if you stop procrastinating and believe in yourself and your dreams.Tomorrow has the potential to be better than today. But this day is the only day you have. And it’s the best day of your life. Comment below & if you liked this post please share!

I seem to have a different problem of getting scared once I get close to making those dreams happen…I start to doubt myself! I have fear of commitment when it comes to sticking to one dream, especially career wise- I noticed that. =/

The best piece of advice for procrastination. I would add to it that even if you do have all the best resources, best talent and have put forward the best action plan you won’ t be successful until you actually start to act!
I have interviewed so many successful entrepreneurs and I am convinced that they didn’t have best resources, talent or plan; all they did was acting the right way at the right time. Their will-power and action made them what they are.
So, yes you are absolutely right, procrastination will not ever help anybody.
I’ve published an article on LinkedIn about all the successful people I interviewed, your readers might be interested:https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/9-ideas-lessons-success-stories-reasons-give-up-unaiza-khalid

Yes, procrastination is something that is so easily done. Great post. Reminds me to make my note of things-to do. 🙂 I hate procrastinating but I do end up doing one or more each day..my bad. 😦

JUST START. That’s the biggest piece of advice for beating procrastination. Once you start, you’ll find putting one foot in front of the other is much easier. This is a great post! I love the way you made the reader think about what would happen if they never got to experience something because they procrastinated. Puts things in perspective. Awesome! 🙂

A friend once told me “Next time is tomorrow. Are you going to do it tomorrow? If you are going to give yourself more ‘next time’, you’d end up with lesser and lesser time that it’d finally become ‘no time'”.
Awesome stuff. Don’t procrastinate and let’s make things happen!

Benjamin

I believe that for every rule, there is an exception. There is this task that I was appointed to do that seems impossible which is why I am not progressing. Lol

You are absolutely right Jay, people are always waiting for the “right” moment to begin, and these people will be waiting their whole lives. We need to start right now, this very second, if we’re to ever truly live out our dreams. Not an easy task, but it is simple. Nice one Jay!

I’m such a bad procrastinator which is why I’m taking today to complete my list of chores that I let pile up. Instead of being out enjoying brunch with friends I’ll be here getting things done.
